Monastery Escape Leg 2

This is a Classic event organized by Mahindra Adventure and is labelled the drive of a life time, by those who have been fortunate to attend it.

The Leg 2 of Monastery Escape takes participants in a convoy of expedition ready cars from Leh to Chandigarh via Sarchu, Jispa and Manali. Out of the world landscapes, enough free days, exploratory tours and lots of driving makes the Monastery Escape very special. The route covers some of the highest motorable roads in the whole world and the drive through more plains above 10,000 ft is simply mind blowing.

Optional tours take participants to the famous lakes like Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri or to Khardung La. You can also ride a motorcycle and ride around Leh visiting monasteries or chill out at the famous German bakeries.

Each leg will have only 15 teams. That means there are only 30 entries (minimum two people per car) and this event has a habit of getting booked even before the web site opens. Trust us, you can't go wrong with the Monastery Escape. So hurry!

Entry fee:

1.  The Leg 2 is scheduled from 1st July to 11th July 2017.

2. The entry fee is Rs. 2,00,000 per couple (Minimum 2 members required for a separate car allotment).

3. For additional person fee is Rs.75,000/- per person. For kids above 10 years and below 18 years the entry fee is Rs.20,000 per person.

4. Participants who would like to get their kids along can contact the organizers for their eligibility.

  • All Mahindra Adventure expedition involves lot of long distance driving and may not be a typical sightseeing trip. Though we ensure there is ample time and opportunity for photography and leisure, it can still get tiring for amateur drivers.
  • The vehicle for the expedition will be provided by Mahindra Adventure. These vehicles are expedition ready Mahindra SUVs which, primarily are Scorpio’s or XUV 500’s.
  • The vehicles will be handed over to the participants during the flag-off ceremony, with full tank of fuel. And any subsequent refuelling that may be required enroute has to be taken care by the respective participants.
  • Allotment of vehicles will be on the basis of a lucky draw. Though we give preferential allotment to the early bird entries.
  • Maximum 4 people are allowed per car. Please refer the entry fee details for the additional person charges.
  • Mahindra Adventure will take care of all the accommodation, food, permits and the maintenance of the vehicles
  • Accommodation is on twin sharing basis only. If participants need a single supplement, please contact the organizers.
  • The additional person fee listed in the website is on the basis of twin sharing. If single travellers or teams having odd number of participants who wish to share accommodations, then the additional person will be on a triple occupancy with his respective team. Every effort will be made to match them with a roommate and if a suitable roommate is not available until the time of expedition and if the participant doesn’t wish to be in a triple occupancy, then a single supplement fee will be applicable.   • Expenses like tolls, fuel, flight tickets, airport transfers and any other unforeseen circumstances like ill health and situations arising due to act of god has to be borne by the participant.
  • Atleast one participant per team should have a valid driving license. And a valid passport is a must for trans-border expeditions.
  • We recommend all participants to take personal insurance pertaining to such kind of road trips.
  • Mahindra Adventure Management Team reserves the right to change or cancel the expedition without prior notice.
  • Dates and entry fee are subject to change.
  • Cancellation Policy: 
    • 25% of the entry fee will be deducted if the cancellation is 30 days prior to event date
    • 50% of the entry fee will be deducted if the cancellation is 29 to 15 days prior to event date
    • No refund if the cancellation is within 14 days prior to the event date
